How Life Affects Us - And How We Can Prevent It

Life throws things our way that we don’t always like. Problems arise, people say or do things that hurt us, jobs are lost, or we become ill. Life is seldom perfect, and if it were, we would become bored with it very quickly.

When these bad or difficult things happen, we often become sad or depressed, or develop negative attitudes. Problems then go unsolved, relationships end, we remain unemployed, and our health deteriorates. These are the effects that life has on us. But it can be prevented.

Life itself cannot be prevented. Problems are still going to arise, people will still say things or do things that hurt, you may still lose a job, and you may become ill. But none of that can affect who you are, what you stand for, your positive attitude, or your happiness - unless you allow it to.

Prevention requires a positive attitude. View your positive attitude as a powerful vitamin that counteracts the bad effects of life. Realize that you have no control over those situations, but you have all the control over who you are, what you stand for, your attitude, and your happiness.

No matter what goes wrong in life, you can still be happy, and you can hang onto your positive attitude - because all of that comes from within, not from without ourselves. While everything around us may be totally out of control, we can still be in complete control of ourselves, and our own lives. We are responsible for determining who we are and what we stand for, and we are also responsible for our own happiness and positive attitude.

With this positive attitude, problems can be solved, you can work out issues in your relationship or remove yourself from bad relationships, you can find employment, and you will enjoy better overall health and heal faster when you do become ill. A positive attitude is both the cure and the prevention for the ill effects that life’s problems can try to bestow on us - it works just like penicillin.
